Star Trek is a science fiction film and TV series pioneered by Gene Roddenberry and owned by Paramount.

The original 1960s-vintage Star Trek program had an episode in which all the people on a planet were subjected to total mind control emanating from a computer known to them as "Landru". On beam-down, some members of the exploration party were captured by the villagers who stated "You are not of the body" and they were temporarily absorbed and became robots of Landru.

The newer incarnation of Star Trek, "The Next Generation", prominently features a semi-cybernetic race called the Borg which overrun ordinary sentient species and take over their bodies by implanting computer and robot parts, which again results in total mind control. The Borg threaten: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."
